Message from the Red Hat VP
We recently hosted our biggest event of the year, the 4th annual Red Hat Summit, which proved to be an extraordinary success! Check out the recorded presentations of influential speakers like John Halamka, CIO of Harvard Medical School and more.
We held our largest Government Breakfast yet, which featured presentations by Jim Whitehurst, Red Hat's President and CEO and Michael Howard, Expeditionary C4I Chief Engineer for SSCC, who discussed how the USMC achieved capability integration in a tactical SOA environment using JBoss solutions.
The Red Hat Innovation Awards recognize companies for their commitment to innovating and extending Red Hat technologies. This year, 2 out of the 6 nominations were from the government market namely IBM and Raytheon Company and Booz Allen Hamilton. Congratulations to IBM and Raytheon for winning 2008 Red Hat Innovator of the year for providing an industry standard real-time solution to the US Navy!
And lastly, be sure to read the exciting announcements we made around virtualization and the introduction Red Hat Enterprise IPA 1.0.
Respectfully,
Paul Smith, VP of Red Hat Government Sales Operations
